Citizens association Romany Cultural Center is the association of Roma and non-Roma intellectuals, established as a non-partisan and non-profit organization whose main objective is Roma cultural affirmation. Dragan Ristic, Director of the Roma Cultural Centre of Belgrade since 1998.


Organizing scientific and expert meetings, launching of newspapers, magazines, radio and TV, organizing theatrical performances, founding publishing organizations, establishing the Museum of Romani culture, humanitarian funds, cooperating with national and international organizations.

Realized projects:

    • The expert round-table: Conservation and development of Romani culture in Serbia (ECPD)
    • The Art Workshop for Roma children, in Belgrade Cultural Centre - Stari Grad
    • Production and organization of the exhibition Romani in Belgrade since the early 20th century to the present, in Sinema Rex, Belgrade
    • Bahanalije,  a theater performance, the Center for Cultural Decontamination
    • Circusiada , a drama for children, written by Jovan Nikolic and directed by Ljubisha Matic. The premiere was  in Belgrade and later in several cities in Serbia
    • Drama  Sasa pe jekh iven (Once upon a winter). The premiere was in Sinema Rex, Belgrade and later shown in 10 cities in Serbia
